Course Description

The long-run monetary models (Inflation determinants, the optimal inflation rate, the interdependence between monetary and fiscal policies, and tools of monetary policy). Business cycles and monetary policy (New Keynesian models, Optimal monetary policy). Macroeconomics models (Mundel-Fleming, other Open economy models, microeconomic-based models of exchange rate determination, Optimal monetary policy in an open economy, Monetary Unions, foreign exchange systems, financial crises).
