Course Description

 

This course introduces a range of methods, techniques and current issues of system analysis and design. The course covers topics such as problem definition and identification, system resources and needs, system design and documentation. It is designed to expand the student competence in the theoretical concepts of database system. Emphasis is on database theory. Some of the issues discussed are normalization theory, object oriented databases, distributed databases, concurrency control, security, and optimization.
