PhD in HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT AND POLICY
Program mission
To offer an educational and research environment that equips our academic cohort with advanced research skills through our commitment to fostering innovative research in health administration, contributing to a knowledge-based economy, and supporting the realization of health in VISION 2030.
Program Goals
1. To offer advanced educational opportunities for aspiring Ph.D. candidates in health administration, emphasizing preparing distinguished graduates who will enhance and support health administration activities in Saudi Arabia and around the globe.
2. To maintain skill-based solutions by applying advanced critical thinking skills and enhancing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in health sectors.
3. To build value-based outcomes by developing leadership and sustaining talent acquisition in contemporary health administration contexts.
Admission Requirements
The applicant must hold a master's degree in health administration or one of the administrative or health specializations from King Saud University or any other university recommended by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a grade of no less than "Very Good" and a cumulative GPA of no less than (3.75/5) - if from a university that awards such a grade.
Obtain a score of no less than (6) on the IELTS test or its equivalent
Submit a proposal outlining the study's purpose.
The applicant must pass the written examination administered by the department.
Degree Requirements:
Advanced Coursework and Thesis System
· The student must complete (36) teaching units in addition to (12) teaching units for the thesis.
· Successfully pass the comprehensive exam.
· The student must publish a scientific paper in a peer-reviewed scientific journal according to the following criteria:
1. The research must be published in one of the peer-reviewed scientific journals included in the Web of Science (WOS) data and for social and human specializations in the databases approved by the University’s Scientific Council.
2. The published research must be related to the doctoral dissertation research project and published while the student was enrolled in the program.
3. The published research must be original. Review articles are not accepted.
4. The student must be the primary researcher.
5. The student's affiliation with King Saud University must be indicated.
