Academic advising

Academic advising is one of the essential elements a student needs during university education. It aims to provide support and guidance to students so that they can exploit their own abilities, develop their skills, and encourage them to achieve academic excellence and creativity. The advising process also contributes to guiding students to pass the study plan and graduate within the specified regular period, after they have acquired the knowledge, practical experiences, and skills necessary to be qualified to enter the labor market efficiently. Academic advising also helps students achieve the best results and adapt to the university environment, allowing them to seize available opportunities. The responsibility of academic advising falls on the shoulders of all faculty members, as each university professor is considered a mentor to his/her students, providing them with support and guidance and alerting them to the mistakes and challenges that they must avoid during their educational journey, even if he/she is not the official advisor appointed by the department. Thus, the advising task is a shared responsibility among all faculty members.
