Course Description

 

This course provides explanation of the nature and components of the legal environment of business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The course focuses on the legal aspects of individual and business transactions and covers the following topics: contracts, agency, laws of employment, securities, personal, real-estate, and intellectual property, e-commerce, the environment, and rights of creditors and debtors, the legal rules regulating products, marketing, and advertising, and the responsibility of the producer towards the consumer.

The Course will provide students with the following :

  • Understand the interrelationships among the basic components of the legal environment of business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including the judicial system, the legislative system, and the executive system.
  • Apply the legal principles in solving problems related to contracts, responsibility, agency, employment, personal, real-estate, and intellectual property, e-commerce, the environment, rights of creditors and debtors, marketing and advertising.
  • Understand the important legal issues affecting international business and to realize the role of the main organizations dealing with international business.
  • Monitor the legal developments related to the business environment and connecting them to the course.
  • Realize the ethical issues related to conducting business.
